Wayne Downey

After graduating from the Ontario College of Art, Wayne Downey became one of the premier designers for Northern Reflections clothing (sweatshirts and tops). When the company sought off-shore production, Wayne decided that the time was ripe for self-employment. His illustration and cartooning abilities quickly produced some interesting design contracts. Aside from painting detailed family portraits and landscapes for private clientelle, Wayne is also a major designer of 'Doodle Art' packages, sold in most department stores.

Wayne recently became involved in recreating and reviving the magic surrounding the Classics Illustrated Junior line up of comics. Always supporting artistic talent in children--Wayne also teaches cartooning classes for the young budding artist and strongly believes in keeping the memory of classic art--cartooning, comics or otherwise alive and well.
